TheraOffice Meet the Staff: Andrew Dufour

By Ada Gudex, Senior Director and GM, TheraOffice

Most clients are probably accustomed to speaking with our account management team for various questions that arise while using TheraOffice, to our sales team to add or remove users or premium features, or maybe even the implementation team if you are brand new to TheraOffice. On the other hand, most probably never have the opportunity to speak with our development team, or the engineers behind the screen that develop and enhance the software you know and love.

On behalf of TheraOffice, meet Andrew Dufour, Software Development Engineer, who has been a member of the TheraOffice team for two years. During his short time with us, he has made huge contributions to the overall development and enhancement of TheraOffice. Being that he is a developer, he naturally knows the ins and outs of almost all aspects of the software; however, if he had to choose a specific specialty, he would have to say the Patient Portal.

Andrew has spent nearly six months reviewing and refactoring how the Patient Portal operates. In many ways, the Patient Portal has become his own personal project. When he first started at TheraOffice, the portal was in its very early stages. Andrew immediately saw the potential for it to become something even greater than it was and has enjoyed all of the time that he has devoted to its development.

With that said, Andrew is most excited for the Patient Portal performance and stability updates that are coming in the Winter Update. He, along with the rest of the development team, hasve worked diligently to fix various issues to improve the overall user experience and make the authorization process flow more securely and easily for patients.

During Andrew’s two years, he has quickly learned just how special it is to be a part of the TheraOffice team.

“I believe that the passionate and hard-working people at TheraOffice are what makes this a special place to work. Lots of companies are content just releasing software and a couple FAQ documents to help troubleshoot problems, but at TheraOffice, we have a dedicated team of people willing to work with customers and solve their problems. The drive here to constantly improve the software through customer feedback and having a face and name to talk to about issues is critical to the customer experience.”

When Andrew is not working on the Patient Portal or attending development meetings, believe it or not, he loves to just code for fun! He enjoys working on projects and developing websites with his friends. DIY robotic projects, 3D printing, and video games are also personal favorites of his. Essentially, anything that allows him to work with his hands and watch his code do things in physical space is particularly entertaining for him.

Throughout his childhood, Andrew’s hopes and dreams were to become a scientist. Little did he know that it would take him down the path of becoming a computer scientist! From an early age, he had a fascination with computers, coding, and absorbing as much information as he could. With all that said, it makes perfect sense that he has found purpose and joy on TheraOffice’s development team.

With Netsmart’s acquisition of TheraOffice, Andrew Dufour is now part of the Netsmart team, still providing the same high-quality analytics and development to TheraOffice clients as was previously the case. Even better, TheraOffice is now part of the CareFabric platform, meaning that TheraOffice now integrates with a host of different healthcare administration solutions, including geriatric EHR software, hospice EHR software, value-based care software and more. Expect great things to come as Netsmart continues to raise the bar in the EHR software space.

Why Rising Acuity is Exposing the Limits of Fragmented Systems

Why Rising Acuity Is Exposing the Limits of Fragmented Systems

Wednesday, May 27 | Post-Acute Care,Care Coordination,Thought Leadership

Something fundamental has shifted in senior living, and most organizations feel it every day. Residents are delaying move-in and ultimately arriving with more complex needs than many communities were designed to support. Residents and their families still want exceptional hospitality and services. Referring providers and partners expect clinical coordination while payers demand outcomes supported by data. And operators are expected to deliver all three at the same time and at scale.

From Cleanup to Clean Claims: Rethinking Eligibility in Post-Acute Care

Thursday, May 21 | Post-Acute Care,Thought Leadership

Eligibility in post-acute care has become a complex and financially impactful challenge in the revenue cycle. What started as a once-a-year administrative task is now a continuous operational pressure point. Yet many organizations are still treating eligibility as something to clean up after issues arise. That approach is becoming difficult to maintain as payer requirements shift, patient coverage changes more frequently and teams are stretched thin. The result isn’t just inefficiency. It’s real financial risk.
