Compass Health Network Partners with Netsmart
Partnership will create unified electronic health record system spanning numerous diverse clinical settings
Overland Park, Kan., May 17, 2017 - Compass Health Network, one of the largest community behavioral health providers in the U.S., announced today that it will partner with Netsmart, the largest healthcare IT provider solely focused on integrating behavioral health and post-acute care with the rest of healthcare, to create an integrated electronic health record (EHR) system across its health network.
Compass Health Network, with more than 2,500 employees and 60 locations, is comprised of Pathways Community Health, Crider Health Center and Royal Oaks Hospital. Compass provides a full continuum of healthcare services, offering outpatient and inpatient behavioral health services, primary care, and dental care. The partnership between Compass and Netsmart is the first of its kind. Both organizations will draw from their respective expertise and experience as they develop an EHR system integrating diverse settings and types of care.
“At Compass Health Network, our mission is to inspire hope and promote wellness by caring for the whole person, no matter who they are or how much money they have,” said Compass CEO Tim Swinfard.
Netsmart will connect Compass’ behavioral health records to primary care, hospitals and dental providers across its numerous locations. By providing one integrated EHR, Compass will not only be able to share information within the organization, but will also be connected to the larger healthcare community through referrals and secure data sharing. This will result in a higher level of whole-person care for individuals receiving services.
“As two major players in Missouri for behavioral health, we’re honored to work with Compass to provide integrated care across their health network,” said Netsmart CEO Mike Valentine. “As Compass continues to grow, Netsmart looks forward to joining them on the journey to provide better connectivity and integration across their health network.”
“Our neighbors come to us in crisis, or in need of addiction recovery; they come for flu shots and physicals; for dental checkups; for housing,” said Swinfard. “Regardless of where, when or why individuals come to Compass, we provide the care they need and a path to full, productive and healthy lives. Netsmart is a great partner to take us to the next level of maximizing the wellness of those we serve.”
