OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Jan. 26, 2023 Netsmart, an industry-leading healthcare IT partner, today announced that the GEHRIMED electronic health record (EHR) has earned the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC-Health IT) 2015 Edition Cures Update certification via Drummond Group LLC, an Authorized Certification Body (ACB).

GEHRIMED is a cloud-based, mobile EHR solution designed for and by long-term/post-acute care (LTPAC) practitioners with capabilities needed to enhance care, simplify workflows and manage compliance. The certified GEHRIMED solution v.4.3 provides efficient documentation for clinicians and streamlines quality measure support for merit-based incentive payment system (MIPS), accountable care organization (ACO) measures management and value-based care initiatives.

“By remaining at the forefront of interoperability, we can empower our clients to meet the evolving healthcare requirements of coordinated care and value-based practices successfully,” said Beth Reece, Vice President and GM of GEHRIMED at Netsmart. “Starting this year, MIPS-eligible physicians, clinicians and practices must meet revised, EHR technology standards for promoting interoperability performance. By continuously innovating our technology, we can better support our clients and those they serve while qualifying for CMS reimbursement models. We are grateful to the team that worked to achieve this certification and believe this is another giant step forward in connecting our clients, patients and residents across the care continuum.”

Netsmart has an established history for certified technology, as GEHRIMED was the first LTPAC EHR to receive ONC Certification in 2011 and have remained committed to advancing solutions with the capabilities providers need to enhance care, maintain compliance and grow their practice. To meet the 21st Century Cures Update requirements for GEHRMIED, Netsmart completed the new (g)(10) FHIR® API testing. By achieving the (g)(10) testing, Netsmart enables providers using the GEHRIMED solution to have cutting-edge interoperability functionality for patient and population health through the CareConnect™ interoperability network.

“We are thrilled to achieve ONC 2015 Edition Cures Update Certification for our GEHRIMED solution,” said Netsmart CEO Mike Valentine. “By advancing our EHR technology, we are able to empower our clients with additional functionalities that increase and improve the high-quality care that they deliver to patients today. Going forward, our clients will now be able to leverage the latest data capabilities within the CareFabric® ecosystem to meet and exceed the requirements of MIPS and be successful in the future.”

The Health IT Module listed is 2015 Cures Update Edition compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
