At a time when our country and the world should be coming together and be united by hope, it is clear we continue to be divided by decades of racial and social injustice. Injustice of any kind has no place in the world. It is not a political issue–it is a human issue.
At Netsmart, we are grateful for the opportunity to work side-by-side with some of the most passionate caregivers in the entire healthcare landscape. They demonstrate tolerance, acceptance, compassion and love each and every day. Associates at Netsmart strive to do the very same in our quest to be a great partner in their journey. We see ourselves as cause connected and passionate about the opportunity to inspire our associates, partners, clients and the communities we serve to create positive change. It’s our mantra. This isn't a catchphrase or a marketing tagline–it's the heartfelt belief our company is built upon. We stand for inclusion. Welcoming and respecting all people regardless of race, gender, sexuality or religious beliefs so they can live their best life. We celebrate what makes us different and unique every day. We believe we have a responsibility to continue to further those values everywhere we connect and throughout the communities we serve.
Words are nothing without action. Today, we are contributing to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to help fund inclusivity programming for youth. While we know this doesn't erase the injustice of the past and the present or solve the important and heavy issues we still face as a nation today, we can play a small part in helping educate the next generation of youth to impact future change. We fully understand that our ongoing commitment to cause and community is important now more than ever. We are immediately expanding the mission of our EveryDayMatters foundation to focus efforts on social justice and inclusion within our communities.
It’s a start. There is more work to do. #BlackLivesMatter is a call to action for us all to be intentional in our obligation to address and defeat racism in all aspects of our society.
Maya Angelou’s thoughtful quote prompts us to examine within: "Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better."
We are committed to doing better.
