OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Feb. 12, 2019—Healthcare IT company Netsmart will showcase what providers should consider beyond the traditional health system electronic health record (EHR) at HIMSS19, Feb. 11-15 in Orlando, Florida. The human services and post-acute technology provider will demonstrate the value of connectivity and integration across the entire healthcare continuum, empowering organizations to collaborate and coordinate with a whole-person approach to care.
“For healthcare to be considered truly integrated, providers must have access to complete health histories across all settings to view the full picture that is the patient or consumer,” said Netsmart CEO Mike Valentine. “Providers must be empowered with tools that can deliver a complete view of even the most complex individuals – and that extends to features outside the typical EHR.”
HIMSS19 attendees can learn about Netsmart in booth #1413 where they can discuss how technology can support and facilitate efforts to deliver fully-informed, connected care. Visitors can expect to speak with Netsmart and industry experts about technology and best practices surrounding the integration and management of population health management as well as leveraging valuable data and analytics for human services and post-acute providers.
Netsmart is pioneering the way community health is delivered by connecting the vital pieces of healthcare. Accessibility to essential health information and care is a hot topic in the industry with a focus on the success of the Netsmart network along with the implementation of the Carequality interoperability framework, both of which have experienced rapid adoption over the last few years. The increase of providers and organizations utilizing the Netsmart network has resulted in growth from more than 12 million data transactions throughout 2018 to that same amount in January 2019 alone. This continuous exchange and access to vital data along with the use of accessibility created through solutions such as telehealth create tremendous opportunity to both improve the delivery of care while developing new revenue streams.
The HIMSS Interoperability Showcase utilizes realistic examples of health IT systems sharing and using data in real-time to demonstrate how providers and care organizations can improve care delivery and outcomes. Attendees who visit the showcase can see Netsmart highlighted in three use cases featuring various scenarios focusing on bundled payments, referral management as well as examine population health management amidst the nation’s opioid epidemic.
Netsmart clients will also share their real-world approaches to integrating care at HIMSS19. These notable presentations include:
- Senior living provider Landis Homes who will discuss their approach to building high-value partnerships and fostering collaboration of care with an acute care provider and accountable care organization (ACO) in their presentation, Integrating Acute and Post-Acute Care to Improve Outcomes,Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 1 p.m.
- Missouri Coalition for Community Behavioral Healthcare will discuss a practical approach to making the most out of data for care coordination and management in Missouri Model for Optimizing Data for Population Health Management, Thursday, Feb. 14 at 1 p.m.
“Healthcare never stops moving; there’s always something next on the horizon,” said Valentine. “Technology continues to be essential in day-to-day operations and in the delivery of care. As the largest technology provider in the human services and post-acute communities, we are uniquely positioned to help unite caregivers across settings by developing and delivering solutions that can bring them one step closer to true care coordination. It’s a very exciting time.”
