Virtual Behavioral Health & Addiction Treatment: Creating and Expanding Your Brand

By Andrew Fosnacht, Senior Manager of Interoperability, Netsmart

Brand value. It’s the sum of several components of business. Sure, it’s the monetary value of your organization, but it’s also measured by how aware consumers and partners are of your organization and how much those groups trust you. Your brand as a provider in healthcare has never been more important. Consolidation, competition, specialization and the industry shift to value-based service delivery have created a market where the ability to provide a service is simply not enough. The service must also be held to an excellent standard, while remaining timely and technologically advanced. This is the value of incorporating telehealth technology into your line of service offerings. Incorporating virtual care consumers can trust not only boosts your brand value, but can improve clinical outcomes, help lower costs and offer a unique strategy for reducing the number of individuals addicted to opioids.

AltaPointe Health has successfully marketed their brand to their partner providers with the use of telehealth. Consumers receive excellent care without having to wait days, knowing they will be transitioned to a facility where they are already known. Hospital partners trust AltaPointe’s ability to quickly place consumers in appropriate, lower cost of care settings. Telehealth helps consumers avoid unnecessary emergency department (ED) services, as a trained psychologist is able to see the individual in need right away using virtual care. Through the use of telehealth in its hospitals, Altapointe has seen a 33% reduction in ED costs for consumers. AltaPointe has cultivated a virtual presence across their provider community and is continuing to show success for their own organization and partners alike. Now, their brand power is only growing.

What is your strategy to expand your brand? Every provider has the ability to influence higher standards of care delivery and better consumer experiences through telehealth. Read the joint American Well and Netsmart white paper to explore how telehealth can help advance clinical outcomes and break down barriers to care today.
