Nurses Week 2018 Reflections

By Mary Gannon, Senior Director and Chief Nursing Officer

Inspire, Innovate, Influence – those three words are the American Nurses Association theme for Nurses Week 2018.  As I reflect upon my career as a nurse and think about all of the lives I have come in contact with, I think of you all.  While patient and family care is first and foremost to who we are, the ability to inspire, innovate and influence is what drives the advancement of care and advocacy for the betterment of healthcare regardless of the venue in which we practice. We share experiences, passion, frustration, joy across the continuum of life and whether you remain in direct patient care or have moved to nursing related fields such as information technology, education, leadership, you will always, first and foremost be a nurse…and nurses make a difference.

I wish you a wonderful Nurses Week 2018!

Mary
