A Note From Scott Green

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT/GENERAL MANAGER, HUMAN SERVICES

As the summer heat continues to rise, so have our innovative advancements and ongoing collaboration.  At Netsmart, we’ve been honored to be a part of conversations regarding all of the important steps in making healthcare delivery more connected and dynamic than ever before. In addition, Netsmart is working hard to support your mission with continued legislative advocacy efforts to ensure the resources you need are available for the important work you do. It’s been a busy first half of the year with much more still to come!

As we continue to focus on our CareRecords, here are a few areas where we will continue to add new workflows and expand your reach. As always, our primary focus remains the same: supporting your organization as it grows and evolves. Below are some highlights of things that have already been released this year. Join us for the next netCONNECT to learn more about what’s to come for the rest of the year.

CONNECTIONS19 was our biggest ever, with a record-setting attendance of more than 1,800 healthcare professionals including clients, partner organizations, industry leaders and experts. I’d like to thank everyone who came out for this special event. It was great to see many of you in our nation’s capital and even better to be a part of and witness so many great conversations and growing partnerships. Our team is already busy gearing up for CONNECTIONS20 in beautiful Denver, Colorado! We hope to see you all there for even more discussion and collaboration.

We are excited to announce the recent legislative news that the Excellence in Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Expansion Act has extended the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) pilot program in its original eight states (Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon and Pennsylvania) for two years and expanded the program to several additional states, which are still to be determined. Learn more about the expansion in the community updates section of the newsletter.

Did you know that Netsmart is currently advocating for inclusion and funding for behavioral health and substance use treatment providers under the CMMI Medicare Opioid Treatment bundled payment program and Medicaid provider infrastructure demonstration?  Learn more about this effort along with all other legislative initiatives under the Community Updates section of the newsletter.

We’ll also be at the National Council’s Hill Day event in September. Please let us know if you will be there as well.

There are several events on the calendar this fall including the Illinois Association of Rehabilitation Facilities (IARF) annual conference September 4-6. We are eager to see our very own Julie Hiett, senior director of population health management present at the conference. Hiett will speak to evolving care models and how they can improve population health. Other events we’ll be attending include Rehabilitation & Community Providers Association and Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council. Check out the events section for more info.

As always, we value your feedback on the quarterly News Feed. Let us know if there’s something you’d like to see more of. We’d love to get your feedback!

We are looking forward to an exciting and even busier second-half of the year full of opportunities and pivotal conversations. Most importantly, we enjoy being your partner throughout this journey as we continue to work together to help shape the future of healthcare.
