Netsmart Finalizes Home Health, Hospice and Investor Partner Transaction

Supports continued evolution of technology platform for integrated healthcare

Overland Park, Kan., April 19, 2016 – Netsmart today announced the completion of its new venture with GI Partners and Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: MDRX).

Netsmart is merging the Allscripts HomecareTM business unit into the Netsmart CareFabric® suite of solutions, establishing Netsmart as the largest human services and post-acute technology provider in healthcare. The Homecare business serves more than 30,000 home health, hospice and private duty clinicians in the U.S., Guam and Puerto Rico.

The Homecare solution provides current Netsmart clients with access to additional home health and hospice technology solutions and expertise if they offer these types of services in their communities. It also offers them a quality solution option if they wish to expand their services to include home health and hospice.

“There are many synergies between Netsmart’s existing solutions and the needs of organizations and clinicians providing home health and hospice services,” said Netsmart CEO Mike Valentine. “We are excited to welcome the Homecare clients and nearly 200 Homecare associates to the Netsmart family. We all share the common goal of making a positive impact on the lives of people every day.”

GI Partners will provide investments and resources that will allow Netsmart to continue to rapidly accelerate ongoing expansion into the evolving integrated healthcare technology sector.

“These two partnerships support our strategy of ‘going where the puck will be,’ ” said Valentine. “Not only providing our clients with the technology to digitize health information with EHRs, but also a platform with the capabilities and tools to deliver coordinated care that improves outcomes and optimizes operational efficiencies.”
