Technology Initiative to Help Easter Seals Southern California Streamline Processes to Meet Increased Need for Services
Nation’s largest Easter Seals affiliate selects Netsmart as knowledge and technology partner
Overland Park, Kan., Jan. 14, 2015 – Easter Seals Southern California (ESSC), California’s largest provider of services for individuals with autism, has selected Netsmart as its partner for a comprehensive technology initiative. The effort will enable ESSC to meet increasing demand for services and improve clinical, financial, and operational efficiencies.
With the new system, ESSC staff will have a complete, up-to-the-minute view of a client’s health record so they can make fully informed decisions about treatment and services. The system will replace current disparate databases and paper-based record keeping, will streamline workflows between the organization’s more than 60 locations, and enable staff to spend more time serving clients and less time on paperwork.
“Our staff provides life-changing services to thousands of residents in Southern California. It’s imperative that all of our staff can access and manage client information securely and efficiently,” said Stacie DePeau, Chief Information Officer for Easter Seals Southern California. “The Netsmart solution will allow us to coordinate care across our continuum of services.”
ESSC will utilize Netsmart’s myEvolv™ CareRecord™ electronic health record (EHR) solution. ESSC, which serves more than 6,000 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will use Netsmart web-based portals across the organization to save time, improve communication, and eliminate redundancies while enabling the country’s largest Easter Seals affiliate to meet a growing demand for services.
Netsmart will also provide systems management for ESSC, including hosting, remote monitoring and data center management. “Our job is to simplify the business of healthcare so ESSC can focus on its priorities to provide people with crucial therapies and support services,” said Netsmart CEO Mike Valentine. “Strategically partnering with ESSC enables us to innovate together, creating a roadmap for the ever-changing human services landscape.”
After a rigorous selection process, Netsmart was chosen for its 47-year track record, specialization in health and human services, and all-encompassing suite of healthcare IT solutions. The system is expected to go live by the end of 2016.
