Community Care Providers Unite at CONNECTIONS2021 to Initiate Innovations and the Path Forward for the Future of Healthcare

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., June 8, 2021 — Behavioral health, post-acute care providers and payers unite at CONNECTIONS2021 to discuss the path forward for the future of healthcare and to initiate innovations to address that path. The largest technology user conference for community care providers, which is being held virtually, kicked off June 7 and runs through June 9, where client attendees can join from across the U.S. and collaborate through comprehensive educational sessions and networking activities.

The fourteenth annual CONNECTIONS event welcomed a record-setting number of attendees with more than 3,100 healthcare providers and professionals registered. The spirit of the conference is to accomplish what the name implies — build connections and cultivate meaningful conversation by bringing together Netsmart users, subject matter experts, partners and Netsmart associates to log on, learn and interact through three days of partnership insight and experience.

The conference kicked off with an opening keynote facilitated by Netsmart CEO Mike Valentine and joined by Netsmart leaders to address the accelerating healthcare changes and trends, alternative care models, transformative funding, the roadmap of technology platforms and the foreseeable shifts of the healthcare industry due to COVID-19. Netsmart leadership took a deep dive into what is on the horizon for clients such as care coordination and telehealth, along with securing ONC Certification to meet regulatory requirements.

“We believe having the right technology at the right time is more important than ever for providers to make the successful evolution to thrive in today’s and tomorrow’s environment, and while this has been a common theme for the entire healthcare industry this past year, we have pivoted to meet the needs of our clients and best serve their communities,” said Valentine. “We’ve made significant strides in advancing the clinician experience, to ultimately deliver better care through our technology. Through this lens, we have increased clinical integration, created more opportunities for expanding service lines, adopted more data measurements, developed new digital models and will now implement free, on-demand training for providers and staff to learn the solutions at their own pace through our new client portal.”

CONNECTIONS2021 attendees choose from more than 105 virtual educational sessions and will hear insights from more than 50 client speakers and subject-matter experts. In addition to participating in networking sessions with their peers, attendees have the ability to submit questions to session speakers during a live Q&A, and to join roundtable discussions and coffee conversations with Netsmart leaders.

New to this year’s annual conference were EHR-agnostic (electronic health record) focused track sessions for providers operating with non-Netsmart EHRs who are leveraging Netsmart solutions beyond the EHR. The Netsmart CareFabric® platform is increasingly being adopted across the industry as a vital part of provider workflows, patient coordination and digital capabilities to be successful in the value-based care environment.

“We view CONNECTIONS as the opportunity to have real-time meaningful discussions with our clients and grow our relationships as a team,” said Valentine. “We look forward to meeting again in person next April for CONNECTIONS2022 in Nashville to gather as industry leaders and partners.”
