2/6/2008 - (Great River, NY) Netsmart Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise-wide software and services for health and human services organizations, today announced it has signed a contract to provide comprehensive licensed software and related services to Manatee Glens of Bradenton, Fla.

Manatee Glens, a not-for-profit hospital and outpatient practice which provides mental health and
addiction services to 10,000 persons of all ages annually, will transition clinical and practice management processes from Netsmart’s CMHC/MIS software to the company’s Avatar software suite. In making the transition, Manatee Glens took advantage of Netsmart programs designed to help organizations utilize software platforms within the Netsmart family of software solutions that best meet their needs and requirements.

“We evaluated a variety of software packages to support our broader services and continued growth, but at minimal risk,” said Mary Ruiz, president/CEO of Manatee Glens. “At the end of the day, it was clear that our ideal option was to remain in the Netsmart family and continue to take advantage of their scalable, connected care-based software solutions and the knowledge and information sharing of the large Netsmart customer community.”

More than 450 Manatee Glens staff, including psychiatrists, licensed therapists, other allied health professionals and child welfare family care coordinators will use the Avatar system.

Manatee Glens will use a variety of Avatar clinical capabilities, including system management, treatment planning, progress notes and physician order entry. For inpatient settings, Avatar eMAR will manage electronic medication administration records. Netsmart Mobile will support remote treatment and reporting requirements, and Netsmart, through its partnership with Geneva Software, will provide Manatee Glens with comprehensive accounts payable, general ledger and human resources management capabilities with Geneva’s Quantum software.

Avatar’s RADplus configuration and management tool will furnish Manatee Glens with comprehensive access and security management, modeling, table and dictionary maintenance, and ad hoc report integration. Manatee Glens’ database requirements will be supported by InterSystems Corporation’s Cache' second generation database management solution, which is fully integrated with Avatar.

“We’re pleased to be able to address Manatee Glens’ requirements for a comprehensive behavioral health software solution, further demonstrating our commitment and leadership in the Florida behavioral healthcare arena,” said James L. Conway, chief executive officer, Netsmart Technologies. “Our relationship with Manatee Glens is a true partnership, with our software growing with them as they continue to provide quality care while meeting ever-changing State of Florida reporting requirements.”

Founded more than 50 years ago, Manatee Glens is a not-for-profit provider of mental health and
addiction inpatient, detox, residential psychiatric and treatment and counseling services. A Netsmart
customer since 1988, Manatee Glens is licensed by the State of Florida and accredited by the Joint
Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
