System Management - This two-day class is designed to help the system manager make the decisions necessary to maintain an efficient production system. We’ll review the key concepts of the CMHC/MIS. The system administration from that point is broken down into the system administration that can be done with the CMHC/MIS, and the system administration that can be done with MISADM.
From the MIS side of administering the system, we’ll cover customizing menus for the end user, providing on-line help for your operators, understanding how security works within the system, and the best implementation to suit your needs (register level security included). There will also be discussion around parameter files and their role in the system, as well as archiving historical data, working with advanced database features, monitoring data integrity, and understanding what recourses are available to you within CMHC/Netsmart and outside of CMHC/Netsmart.
From the MISADM side of administering the system, we’ll cover how the manager users on the UNIX system, handle processes on the system, perform basic file management, perform backups, and restores of data, apply system updates, retrieve patches from bulletin board services, and work with BUI menus.
