Compass Health Network Partners with Netsmart

Partnership will create unified electronic health record system spanning numerous diverse clinical settings

Overland Park, Kan., May 17, 2017 - Compass Health Network, one of the largest community behavioral health providers in the U.S., announced today that it will partner with Netsmart, the largest healthcare IT provider solely focused on integrating behavioral health and post-acute care with the rest of healthcare, to create an integrated electronic health record (EHR) system across its health network.

Compass Health Network, with more than 2,500 employees and 60 locations, is comprised of Pathways Community Health, Crider Health Center and Royal Oaks Hospital. Compass provides a full continuum of healthcare services, offering outpatient and inpatient behavioral health services, primary care, and dental care. The partnership between Compass and Netsmart is the first of its kind. Both organizations will draw from their respective expertise and experience as they develop an EHR system integrating diverse settings and types of care.

Netsmart will connect Compass’ behavioral health records to primary care, hospitals and dental providers across its numerous locations. By providing one integrated EHR, Compass will not only be able to share information within the organization, but will also be connected to the larger healthcare community through referrals and secure data sharing. This will result in a higher level of whole-person care for individuals receiving services.
