Netsmart to Facilitate Statewide Data Analysis Program for Florida Council for Community Mental Health

Unique initiative designed to utilize statewide de-identified data to track trends and improve healthcare outcomes

Overland Park, Kan., November 5, 2013 – Mental health and addiction services agencies in Florida will now have a way to analyze and plan programs based on aggregate cost, outcomes and other valuable data.

Netsmart, the leading provider of clinical solutions for health and human services organizations nationwide, and the Florida Council for Community Mental Health (FCCMH), today announced a first-of-a-kind initiative to enable FCCMH to analyze aggregate de-identified data from its provider members statewide and identify cost, productivity and outcomes in real time.

Each participating FCCMH member organization will have an opportunity to submit de-identified data to the Council where it will be analyzed with Enlighten Analytics®, a comprehensive, innovative, interactive easy-to-use platform provided by Netsmart and specifically designed for behavioral health and addiction treatment organizations. Results of the ongoing analysis will be used by providers to detect trends, identify needs and develop effective treatment programs. Nine of FCCMH’s nearly 60 member agencies have already signed up to participate in the program, which will also allow for Enlighten Analytics to be deployed at each participating agency to drive efficiencies and productivity.

“This significant project will help identify the most effective outcomes measures that can be proposed to the State of Florida to drive accountable care in an emerging pay-for-performance environment,” said Bob Sharpe, president and chief executive officer, FCCMH. “It will also help our members aggregate a wide array of complex, dispersed data and use it enhance the effectiveness of their clinical practices and programs.”

“In this era of accountable care, it is essential for providers to have access to financial, operational and outcomes data in real time,” said Michael Valentine, chief executive officer, Netsmart. “Enlighten Analytics is the business intelligence and analytics engine that enables our clients to define and measure the outcomes important to those they serve. We’re excited to be a part of this innovative project to help Florida providers define, measure, and analyze the effectiveness of the care they are delivering.”

Enlighten Analytics was developed by Centerstone Research Institute (CRI). It captures and reports outcomes and other data in simple-to-interpret charts and graphs, effectively turning the massive amounts of complex data collected by providers into meaningful, actionable information.
